CAS Love and Friendship

Well it's the end of February already.  Can't believe how fast time flys.................

In trying to come up with a new idea, I was looking at the sunset and wondered how many of my friends were looking at the same sky I was looking at.........

That thought is the inspiration for this weeks card.  I'm starting with the dog stencil (see image and item number in last weeks post).

First dry emboss the dog, then sponge color around the edge.  I used Archival Coffee.  Color in the spot, ear, nose, tail and eye with fine tip permanent marker.  Color collar with red marker and cover with red glitter glue.  I put a touch of black glitter on the eye.  Didn't show up as much as I would have liked.......but it works.

I then dry embossed the verse, "A Star is Born", LS 1012.  With the stencil in place I colored it with red.  Cover with red glitter glue.

I rough cut a star and covered it with crystal glitter glue.  Loop a piece of gold and mustard colored string around the star and attach to the dogs paw.

Did I tell you I LOVE THIS DOG!!!!!

Check out the rest of the teams creations.  Don't forget the call for new designers is still out.

CAS Love & Friendship

Again this week,  I'm starting with LL3029 Dog
Dry emboss and stencil color onto image with Distress inks (see posts below).  Cut out.

Next I used one of the birds from LL3011 Lovebirds Heart.
Dry emboss and stencil color over bird.  Cut out.

Next I cut the front of my card and added the sayings on the right hand side.
First in the upper right corner I traced You and Me with red colored pencil and then filled it in with the same color pencil.

Position the "Furrever Friend" from LG749 Dog Words, just below you and me

Finally attach double stick foam mounting tape to the back of the bird and the back of the dog.  On the left side of card front, attach the dog first then the bird on his head.

There you go........furr feather friends!

I am having a lot of fun with this challenge, I hope you are too!  Don't forget to check out every one's blogs.  Make sure to leave some comments.  It really helps inspire.

Until next week!

CAS Love & Friendship - Week 2

YAHOO!!!  My computer is fixed.  So this is my Valentine's post.

I started with LL 3029 Dog:

Dry emboss two images.  One as shown, then flip the stencil over and emboss the second one.
Stencil with color.  I used the same Distress pad colors that I used last time.

I then took the LG747 Ruffled Heart and traced the inside heart shape onto the left side of a piece of red paper.   Cut out with an exacto knife.  Lay red matt on card and trace the cutout heart.
Cut this one out, but make sure you cut it just outside the traced line.

Attach red matt to front of card. Paste LM276 Be My Valentine with white glossy paste onto front of card.

While this drys, cut out the two dogs.
Apply double stick tape to back of each image.

Position the dog facing right underneath the heart opening.

Open the card and set the dog facing left nose to nose with the first dog.

I love this little dog!!!

CAS Love & Friendship

Happy February!

This month the challenge is Clean and Simple, Love and Friendship.  It's almost been a year since I lost my best friend of 17 yrs 11 months.

In honor of her, all this month my cards will feature one of the newer stencils LL3029 Dog

First dry emboss dog.  Leave stencil in place and stencil color over image.  I used Ranger Distress Inks.  Then color collar with red marker and nose and eye with black.  Cut out leaving an 1/8th inch border (approximately).

Next on a square piece of red paper, paste words with white glossy paste.

After words are dry, place LG747 Ruffled Heart over the top of words and trace with a fine tip black permanent pen.
Cut out heart.

Cut dogs mouth open and place heart in it.

Layer pieces on paper.  Add images with 3-d foam mounting tape.
Tah-dah!  Clean and Simple, really cute!!

Check out the rest of the teams creations and don't forget the call for designers.

Until next week........
