A Fresh Start

Well this is the last week of our "fresh start" challenge.

I decided to use one of the new stencils that were released this month.  I LOVE IT!!!!

LX 7020 Leafless Tree

First dry emboss the image on white glossy paper.  Then with the stencil in place, brush over image with Dreamweaver Color Solutions Artist Grade alcohol inks.

Remove stencil and clean.  Next put three drops of Color Solutions (green, red, and orange) on applicator and apply to image at end of branches.  Quick and Easy!

Now if spring would only come so we could really see some color on the trees!

Dreamweaver is also making a fresh start with a new design team call.  If you are interested make sure you go to the Dreamweaver blog for more information.  I will be posting the call information in the next couple of days.  Good luck and happy stenciling!

A Fresh Start

This weeks card is another C&S card.  I decided to use another faux cloisonne sample.

Begin by using Stencil LM2012 Fairy Flower Circle:

To help determine my color scheme, I looked for a paper that would enhance the image.

I found the paper and the colors, but the card needed something else.

I found a doily and sponged the colors used on the image onto the doily.

Layer the image onto the doily then onto the paper and it's done - that simple!

Make sure you check out the rest of the design teams blogs.  They just returned from CHA, so I'm sure they will have some exciting new ideas in store for you!!!!

Make sure to play along by adding your images to Mr. Linky on the Dreamweaver Blog!!

Until next week.................................

Fresh Start January

Hello!

My dad received a Blue Ray player for Christmas, so we have been watching lots of ocean movies.

One of them featured whales.  So that is this weeks inspiration.

Start with LL586 Blue Whale

Next paste whale and follow the faux cloisonne technique.

I then masked, taped and moved the stencil around to create an image of a baby behind the whale.

The picture above shows off the cloisonne finish on the whale mom.

The picture below shows off the shadow of the baby:

Make sure you visit my design sisters to see what fun fresh ideas they have created.

They are all getting ready to go to CHA (Craft & Hobby Association Trade Show), to see new and exciting products.   This means new stencils from Dreamweaver YEAH!!

Can't wait to share them with you.........until next week..................

A Fresh Start

This week I'm continuing my fresh look at "sludge".  I started with  LL588 Dragon Stencil
Tape only the top edge down.  Cut strips of paper just a bit larger than the stencil image.

Then I put gold, black and red embossing paste on my palette knife and paste, lift stencil, replace paper and paste again.   Do this until you've used all the paste or you run out of paper.

This gives you several images at one time.

Mount on asian paper and Ta Dah.......quick and easy.

Make sure to check out the other blogs from the Dreamweaver team for more Fresh ideas.

A Fresh Start

Welcome to 2013!!

This month our theme is "A Fresh Start".......

This could mean many things.  This week I'm getting a Fresh Start at wishing people Happy Birthday.  Who better to start the year with but the fabulously creative and generous Lynell Harlow, owner and designer of Dreamweaver Stencils.  With out her and this team I really don't know where I would be.

So here's to you Lynell - A VERY VERY HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS!!!

This was done by laying a dab of red, blue, white and yellow embossing pastes at the top of the stencil.  Then pull down with the palette tool (LM 2010) with a wavy motion.  Keep the excess in a container to use again.  Let dry!  Simple!

Make sure to visit the rest of the teams sites for more fun Fresh Starts!!!
