Christmas in August

For the final post in August I decided to do a hint of what we will be using next month as the challenge.

I spritzed a glossy piece of paper with Pink Lemonade Memories Mist. (That's the hint)

Then paste LG746 Star Dream Christmas Tree with Pearl Paste

While still wet, sprinkle glitter over the image. I used Art Institute Reggae mini set.
Take a second sheet of card stock, lay over top of image, press gently to set the glitter into the paste.
Let dry. Brush off excess glitter. Layer and you are done.
Make sure to check out the other Dreamteam members to get more fabulous ideas.

Nothing says holidays like a Partridge in Pear Tree (LG695)I love this stencil because it's so much fun to color.
First paste with White matte paste, let dry.
Replace stencil over pasted image and color with pigment inks.I did add a dot of black permanent ink on the eye because I couldn't find my Picasso.

Todays project is using the Ink Transfer Technique with Memories Mist
First spritz a piece of glossy paper with a lite color of Memory Mist. Then lay a stencil in the bottom of a box over a paper towel. I used the same Christmas Border stencil that I used on my ornament on Monday. Spritz heavily with a couple of Mist colors directly on stencil. Gently lay the glossy paper you preped earlier over the stencil. Then either brayer over it or carefully (so the paper doesn't slip) smooth the paper over the stencil. with a quick peel back motion, remove the paper and let dry. LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE! Talk about a quick card.
(Please excuse the photo, was in a hurry when I took the picture)

Happy Wednesday and Seasons Greetings! LG677 that is

I did the Molten technique with Metallic F/X with this one. Paste with White Matt Paste, sprinkle with Metallic F/X. Heat paste till it bubbles - but doesn't burn.
Creates a very 3 dimensional look.

Today I decided to put together a card with pieces that started out on something else that I didn't end up using. The printed paper was a little square I had left from a larger 12x12 that I just couldn't throw away. The Gold pasted Christmas was from a Scrapbook page that I didn't use.

Start with LL3009 Christmas Script
Paste with gold paste, let dry. Once dry I used Xmas Red and Holly Stickles on the leaves and berries.
Putting it all together makes a simple Christmas card.

Christmas in August

<
Every holiday season (except one) I have gone home for the holidays. We sit around the fire and watch the snow. So this week I decided to use LG739 Stockings by the fire:
This one was a bit time consuming, but the results were worth it!
1) Paste fire and the andirons with white matt paste on cream paper, let dry.
2) Trace socks on both printed paper (I used wrapping paper) and white paper, cut out. **Yes I know mine came out backwards, watch that when you try yours**
3) Paste the andirons again with silver paste, let dry.
4) Stencil fire with pigment inks.

5) Cut a rectangle out of brown paper (for the fireplace) and sponge color around edge.
6) Place paper with fire on it behind fireplace, cut off excess.
7) Cut of sock toe on the traced white pieces, glue to decorative paper as shown.
8) Cover white sock tops with glue and white flock.

9) Cut out silver andirons. Attach with double stick tape.
10) Attach socks to top of fireplace, glue bead at top.

Now it's your turn.

Christmas in August

I know the reason we have been in the 90's for the past two weeks is because we are having Christmas in August.

The card I decided to use this time represents the theme AND the beautiful pine trees that surround my parents home here in the mountains.

Start with LX7003 Ornate Xmas Tree Paste 3 trees with Silver Metallic paste and cut out leaving approx 1/8 of an inch border. Fold two in half. Attach all three together to give image dimension.

Attach trees to card front add glitter glue to areas you want the design to pop.

There you go, silver pine trees! This design is also a new background.

Now it's your turn.

So, to get into the holiday spirit a little early, link your own Christmas in August creations to the Dream It Up! blog mr. linky, or email pics of your creations to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for an opportunity to win this wonderful newly released Heart Ornaments:

Christmas in August

It's SSOOOOO hot right now, what better way to cool off then having Christmas in August. Not to mention Dreamweaver is introducing new holiday images at CHA summer.
For the first week I decided to use one of my favorite holiday images, LL589 Musical Christmas:

First paste with Dreamweaver White Matt Paste, let dry.
Place image over dry paste and stencil color with pigment ink.
I used: Gold on the harp, Copper on the horn and Rust on the violin.
Cover with clear embossing powder, heat. While still hot, cover with a second layer of clear embossing powder.

Draw a shadow line around left side of image with brown marker.
Add red glitter glue to berries and Diamond glitter glue over scroll.
