It's Dream Scheme Thursday!!

I don't know what happened last week, I lost Thursday......

This week we have a "Sketch" theme.

This is the sketch. It can be interpreted any way you want. Your finished project should have the same (or very similar) lines that follow the sketch.

So here's my interpretation:

I LOVE these little owls!!
These are the steps I followed to create this card:
*Dry emboss owls into Core'dinations paper
*File off brown layer with an emery board. I pushed fairly hard.
*Outline the image with fine tip markers
*Paint the owls with irridescent watercolor paints.

*Assemble as shown

It's hard to see the color, but it came out very shimmery. I tell you I have such a better respect for Still Life Photographers! Getting lighting right to show an image at it's best is something I have not mastered, but will keep trying.

Hope you enjoyed today's idea, make sure you visit the rest of the Dream Team to see their take on the sketch.

Any questions, would love to hear from you!

Winners of the Valentine Blog Hop

It's time to announce the winners from the amazing blog hop this week! First, Taylor would like to thank everyone who played along with us - "the ladies who took the time to contribute a project for the hop, the amazing people who left supportive and encouraging comments on SO many blogs, and last but NOT least our generous sponsors!" Here's how Taylor picked the winners: She made a list of all the participants, in no particular order. Then went to http://www.facebook.com/l/15f22xHu6ReEin4bwhQDUjc2PBg/random.org and asked for 20 numbers*, to determine the blogs to draw winners from. It gave her a couple of multiples, so for those numbers she had her 5 year old give her a number off the top of her head (it took her awhile to explain that any number above 57 was not helpful - she really wanted to pick something in the millions range). Those numbers determined which participant's blogs would have a prize winning comment. And then she asked each of those people to use http://www.facebook.com/l/15f22xHu6ReEin4bwhQDUjc2PBg/random.org to select a winning comment. If that person was unavailable, she did it for them. If your name is on this list, please use the "Email Me" button at the top of Taylor's blog to send her a note. In the Subject line, please put: Valentine's Day Hop Winner. In the email, include your contact info, and what prize you've won. Some prizes will be mailed directly to you from the sponsors, some will be emailed to you (in the case of digis). And please be aware, Taylor will be away from her computer Friday, so don't get discouraged if you don't hear from her right away. Taylor is going to give everyone until Sunday night at 6:00 PM EST to claim their prizes, if you haven't contacted her by then and a new winner will be drawn for that prize. That's just over 48 hours :)

Welcome to the Virtual Valentine's Day Blog Hop...

I decided to try something totally different for Valentine's Day. I wanted something three dimensional so here is what I came up with.....

I used stencil LL3010. Dry embossed it 4 times. Dusted red ink over the top of each one. Then cut out the center with an exacto knife and the outer edge with scissors. Score down the center of each heart.

I used the nestability classic oval to cut the ovals in the card and matts. Take a piece of embroidery floss or four strands of thread and tape to card front centering over open oval.

Apply double stick tape on the back of the four hearts, fold them in half and attach them to each other over string. Punch out four small hearts and attach to string in the same way inside center of large hearts.

Attach the print and solid matts to the card front. Be careful not to catch any of the hearts under the matts. Hope you like the finished result.

Now its time to "Hop" from blog to blog, be sure to leave some Valentine "love" in the form of comments at each blog you visit. There are more than 19 companies giving away some awesome Valentine blog candy. Taylor Usry's Blog is a place to find out all about these giving companies. So if you want to continue on with a hop to another participants blog, hop over to Taylor's blog for the list. The more blogs you visit and the more comments you leave the more chances you have to win. These opportunities will continue through Thursday at 6:00 PM. Taylor will randomly choose the winners for the prizes. Now, take your time the next few days and enjoy the Hop! Remember you have until 6:00 PM Thursday evening to leave some comments.

OOPS! I read the wrong list and the next person after me is really Liz Martin. Make sure you don't miss her, she is a fellow Dreamweaver design team member and I know her work is fantastic!!! Then after Liz is...

Thursday, February 10 Dream Scheme

Hi Everyone!
I think I jinxed myself when I said I was going to stay caught up!!! Shortly there after I came down with a horrible bug. I'm just starting to get back into the swing of things.

This weeks theme is Valentines Day Colourway - Pink and Brown

I love pink and brown. Don't know who came up with it, but I really like the color combination.

My card is pretty self explanatory except, I mixed one part glossy red paste with three parts glossy white paste to make up the pink I used on my heart design.

Hope you have you have fun with this color combination. Would love to see what you've done with it!!

I plan on catching up again before next weeks challenge (but then the best laid plans..........)
